Q) Do you custom build ovens on site?

A) Yes, we have staff with strong experience in building and installing ovens at different locations.

 

Q) What is the best sized oven for an average family home?

A) We recommend the Donatello 960mm oven, which can cater for up to 20-30 family

and friends. It can cook up to 8 pizzas at one time. It is the most common oven

or suburban backyards with standard backyard sizes. But it is entirely your choice as to which oven size you choose to suit your home.

 

Q) Will ovens deteriorate or ruin if placed in the outdoor environment?

A) Ovens have been designed to sit outdoors and to resist the weather’s conditions.

 

Q) Can the wood fire oven be used on a total fire ban day (Victoria Wide)?

Q) What can be cooked in the wood fire oven?

A) Once you reach the cooking temperature, you can cook almost anything in the wood fire  

oven, from pizza’s to roast turkeys, fish, stews, curries, sweets and cakes.

 

Q) What types of oven trays are best for cooking in the wood fire oven?

A) Normal oven proof baking trays, pizza trays and also alluminium disposable baking trays.

We recommend to cook pizza and bread directly on the cooking floor on the oven with no trays.

 

Q) What type of wood is best for firing the oven?

A) Very dry red gum, yellow and white box woods are suitable. Other woods can be toxic.

 

Q) Where can I purchase cement and sand for cementing the outer oven?

A) Cement and sand can be purchased from your local gardening suppliers.

 

Q) How thick do I need to work up the cement finish on the outer oven?

A) At minimum, a 200mm thick layer is required for better insulation.

 

Q)    Which glue is to be used for applying stones to outer oven?

A)    Firstly, surface of oven must be smooth for applying this finish.

Glue which is used fior heated slabs when applying tiles can be purchased at tiling suppliers. For a 1000mm oven, approx 2 packets of glue is required.

 

Q) Is it easy to build an oven myself?

A) It can be easier if you have assembling knowledge and patience. Some ovens come out looking better than others, it all depends on your input into the quality of the finished piece.

But, by following our instructions, you will be able to build it yourself.

 

Q) What are the pre-cast oven pieces made of?

A) High quality refractory materials are used, making ovens capable of cooking at the

highest temperatures.
